We’re looking for a Business Development Director in New York!
What Will You Do
The Business Development Director, East maintains overall responsibility for identifying and winning net-new client relationships for agency operations on the east coast.
Your Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership: An active participant in the NA leadership team responsible for providing market feedback to the company, leading business development and marketing teams, and working with NA-MD and finance to develop long-range net-new sales strategy plan
Agency Marketing: Contributes to all strategic and operational marketing activities for the agency including the development of a marketing go-to-market plan for NA
Lead Generation: Contributes to identifying industries/accounts for the business development team to target with cold outreach efforts and nurture relationship networks for warm leads and referrals
Lead Conversion: Provide timely follow-up on all leads and lead initial conversations with prospects to qualify the lead and open the consultative selling process by engaging in strategic discussions with clients regarding their business needs and Set Creative’s ability to deliver solutions to address those needs
Opportunity Management: Responsible for the lifecycle of the sales process including planning, pitch/proposal, and the “close,” leading prospect communications and working to ensure the right team is involved and prepared to support client pitches, and orchestrating the necessary post-pitch activities required to keep the opportunity tracking to close
The list of qualifications includes the minimum qualifications necessary for any new employee for this position, such as specific prior work experience, certifications/licenses, technical knowledge of software, machinery, or tools, and physical abilities such as relevant lifting, bending, walking, and/or stooping.
Bachelors degree in Business or related field preferred
10+ years of experience in marketing and experience in new business activities in an agency environment
Highly experienced, confident, and articulate in the work of experiential marketing
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment
Friendly demeanor and ability to be the initial point of contact for all prospective clients
Proven ability to manage a team of professionals
Proven ability to manage a sales cycle
Ability to effectively and appropriately interact with co-workers at a variety of levels, across many disciplines
A demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
Highly organized with a keen sense of attention to detail
Exceptional initiative and follow-through skills
After hours work required
Significant overnight travel required
Employee must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. We do a high volume of work, often on tight timelines and our dedication to client satisfaction is uncompromising. Some travel should be expected.
